Purohit Tallies Three Wins In San Diego

SEATTLE – Junior Soham Purohit turned in a perfect 3-0 weekend in singles play to lead a quartet of Dawgs who competed Friday-Sunday at the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic. Washington competed in a hidden dual format against San Diego, Boise State, and Navy.
Joining Purohit was senior Brett Pearson, sophomore Rohan Belday, and freshman Daniel Bien. All Dawgs played one singles and one doubles match each day.
Purohit was 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles play teaming with Pearson. In singles, Purohit defeated Lukas Velik of Boise State (6-2, 6-4) then knocked off Herrick Legaspi of Navy (6-0, 7-6) and on Sunday he rallied to beat Adrien Berrut of San Diego (3-6, 6-4, 6-1).
