Blake Wilson was the hero on the night, slapping a grounder deep in the hole to short and applying enough pressure with his legs to force an errant throw to first. Pinch runner Cooper Whitton touched home plate and sent the Husky faithful home happy.

Right-handed reliever Grant Cunningham earned the win out of the bullpen, entering in the seventh and retiring all nine men he faced.

A leadoff triple to start the game got the Bruins off to a hot start, and while UW starter Jared Engman was able to limit the damage to a single run, UCLA tacked on three more in the third to go up 4-0.

The Dawgs clawed a run back in the fourth, with Sam DeCarlo doubling and cruising home on back-to-back wild pitches.

However, the critical moment of the game came in the sixth. Following a Wilson double and an Aiva Arquette walk, AJ Guerrero kept his hot bat going, clubbing a game-tying three-run blast to dead center, avoiding a leaping Malakhi Knight's glove by mere inches.

With the script of the game flipped, UW head coach Jason Kelly turned to the reliable arm of Cunningham, who kept the score tied until Wilson was able to provide some late night dramatics in the ninth.
