Dawgs Down Ducks 3-0, Secure B1G Tournament Bye
October 27, 2024 | Women's Soccer
The Huskies dominated the ball throughout the affair, outshooting the Ducks 25-4 in the match. Playing in potentially her final match at Husky Soccer Stadium, senior keeper Olivia Juarez made two saves to secure her seventh career clean sheet.
The Dawgs jumped all over Oregon early and less than 11 minutes in, found themselves ahead through Holdenried's first goal of the season. Tatum Thomason charged in on the wing and fed Kelsey Branson, who played the sophomore in stride. Holdenried took a touch to set up her right and sent a rocket into the side netting to push UW ahead 1-0 early.

Washington continued to press forward and create chances throughout the match, but as the clock wore down the lead remained at a tenuous single goal.
That changed with a late flurry as the Huskies piled on two goals in the final seven minutes.
Branson doubled the advantage in the 84th minute off a corner delivery from Samiah Shell, rising up and pinpointing her header from the middle of the 18 into the upper 90.

Shortly after, Oregon's Chloe Chase was shown a red card for clearing an Alex Buck header off the line with her hands, garnering Washington a penalty.
Senior defender Jace Holmes stepped up to take the spot kick, capping a perfect Senior Day on Montlake with her first-ever goal in the Husky kit to seal the victory and a first round bye in next week's Big Ten Tournament.
