The Green Wave have won all five previous meetings, all at neutral sites. U Dub and Tulane last squared off in 2004, when the Green Wave ended the Huskies season at the NCAA Oxford Regional, defeating UW 3-2 in the opening game and again 12-3 on Championship Sunday.

Washington's 14-4 start is its best through the first 18 games of a season in nearly 30 years. The Huskies last got off to a hotter start in 1994, beginning that campaign 15-3. U Dub has won 26 of its last 30 games during the regular season and has won each of its last four Pac-12 series.

In the midst of an 11-game hitting streak, AJ Guerrero is red hot at the dish. The sophomore is batting .475 during the streak and leads the Dawgs with a .391 batting average overall. Sitting with a .529 OBP, Guerrero has failed to reach base just once this season.
THEY COME IN BUNCHES
UW Slugger Will Simpson has nine two-hit games this season, compared to eight games in which he has registered less than two base knocks. The Sammamish, Washington, native has produced four games without a hit and four with one.
CASE CLOSED
When righty flamethrower Case Matter is summoned from the Husky bullpen, a Washington victory is nearly a matter of fact. The UW closer has made six straight appearances without allowing a run, totaling 8.1 innings. During the stretch, Matter has struck out 13 batters, while issuing just a pair of hits and seven walks, collecting three saves this season.
ONE-TWO PUNCH
Coming at you from the right and left side, respectively, starters Kiefer Lord and Stu Flesland III pose a daunting task for opposing offenses. Flesland ranks second in the Pac-12 with a 2.48 ERA, sitting sixth in the league with 33 strikeouts. Meanwhile, Lord is close behind in fifth with a 2.60 ERA and ranks fifth in the conference with 35 strikeouts. Flesland and Lord rank first and second in the Pac-12 in WHIP at 0.86 and 0.87, respectively.
THE KID'S CLUTCH
Freshman Sam DeCarlo has made his biggest impact this season in the biggest moments. DeCarlo is batting .429 with runners on base and .389 with runners in scoring position, compared to just .240 with the bases empty.
STARTING STRONG
The Dawgs have gotten off to fast starts to innings, having the leadoff hitter to a frame reach 43.6 percent of the time. Eight different Huskies are reaching base at least half the time when leading off an inning. 36 of the 68 leadoff baserunners have come around to score, including 9-of-11 in the series against Rhode Island.
RACKIN' 'EM UP
Starting with a season-high 21 knocks in the 32-7 win over Northern Colorado, Washington has recorded double digit hits in 9 of its last 11 games.
CHIEF KIEF
Throwing six perfect innings with 10 strikeouts against Northern Colorado, Kiefer Lord was named the Week 3 Perfect Game National Pitcher of the Week and Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week. The righty hurler was the first Husky to earn a national pitching award since Joe DeMers in 2018 and the first Husky pitcher to earn a Pac-12 weekly award since Josh Burgmann in 2019.
THAT'S OFFENSIVE
The Dawgs put up astonishing numbers during their four-game series with Northern Colorado. Most notably was the school-record 32 runs scored in the series opener. Those 32 runs are the second most scored by one team in an NCAA Division I game this season (William & Mary, 33 runs). The Huskies outscored the Bears 57-12 for the series, batting .388 as a team with 15 doubles, six home runs, 51 RBIs, 26 walks, 16 HBPs and a .513 team on-base percentage.
RISING TO THE OCCASSION
Husky shortstop Cam Clayton was on fire during UW's first Pac-12 series. Clayton batted .583 during the Dawgs' series with Utah, the third highest average for a player during the conference's opening weekend. Four of Clayton's seven hits went for extra bases, garnering a 1.083 slugging percentage.
HOMEGROWN DAWGS

After earning All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Defensive Team honors in 2022, Washington catcher Johnny Tincher was named to the Preseason All-Pac-12 team as voted on by the conference's head coaches.
A redshirt junior, Tincher enters his fourth season at UW coming off of a campaign in which he ranked second on the team with a .314 average. He drove in 35 runs and scored 27 more while posting 19 extra-base hits, including 13 doubles, five home runs and a triple. Defensively, Tincher threw out 10 of 31 runners attempting to swipe a bag last season, while garnering a .989 fielding percentage.

2018 OMADAWGS
2023 marks the five-year anniversary of Washington's 2018 team that became the first squad in program-history to reach the College World Series. The Huskies ran through the Conway Regional, sweeping three games against UConn and host Coastal Carolina. UW then took a decisive Super Regional Game 3 at Cal State Fullerton, erasing a one-run deficit in the ninth to force extras and walking off the Titans on Kaiser Weiss' sacrifice fly to score Levi Jordan and send the Dawgs to Omaha.
