
Pollerd Wins Silver Medal With Australia U-19 Squad

DEBRECEN, Hungary -- Incoming Husky freshman Olivia Pollerd added a silver medal to her trophy case on Sunday after helping Australia to a 5-2 record at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Hungary.
Pollerd scored nine points in Sunday's gold medal game, but the Aussies fell 70-52 to the unbeaten American (7-0) squad. Team USA handed Australia both of its losses in the tournament.
For the tournament, Pollerd averaged 5.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 blocks playing against some of the best players in her age group from around the world.
Pollerd, from Mount Martha, Australia, has represented the state of Victoria at the Australian Junior Championships level and her country in 2019 during Australia's gold-medal run at the FIBA U17 Oceanic Championships.
