Endsley Garners First Freshman Of The Week Award

SEATTLE - Husky outside hitter Madi Endsley enjoyed the most productive week of her young career last week against Oregon State, and she was honored for it today by the Pac-12 Conference, which named her the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week.
The native of Temecula, Calif. posted a combined 25 kills in UW's two wins over the Beavers, including a new season-high 14 kills in the 3-0 win on Saturday, Feb. 6. She hit .375 for the week and made a huge impact at the service line. Endsleyย had just one ace in the first four matches and was not part of the service rotation for much of that time, but she got back into the mix and in the first match of the week last Thursday, the freshman notched five service aces. Two days later she hit two more to average 1.00 aces per set for the week.
Ranked No. 23 in her senior class by PrepVolleyball.com and one of Volleyball Magazine's Fab 50 recruits, Endsley is the first Husky to win Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors since Lauren Sanders back in 2017, although Claire Hoffman won Offensive Player of the Week honors during her freshman year in 2018.
The 10th-ranked Huskies (5-1) face their first ranked opponent this week when they travel to 18th-ranked UCLA (4-2) and Pauley Pavilion. The two matches are scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. with the latter airing live on Pac-12 Networks.
