Huskies Dominate In 4-1 Win At Arizona
October 15, 2021 | Women's Soccer
Ruby Hellstrom opened the scoring in the 21st minute, when she pounced on a giveaway by the Wildcat defense and placed her shot on the far post, past the keeper. It was Hellstrom's second goal of the year, and her two goals have now come in back-to-back matches, as she scored last week against Stanford.

In the 39th minute, Summer Yates doubled the lead after she was taken down in the box and calmly converted the penalty for her fourth goal of the season, giving the Huskies a 2-0 lead. The goal by Yates was the 19th of her career and her 51st career point, which puts her in a tie for tenth all-time in program history.

There was no letup in the Huskies in the second half, as just a few minutes in Olivia Van der Jagt scored her first goal of the season off a free kick from Peyton McGee. McGee beautifully delivered a ball deep in the box and Van der Jagt did the rest to finish it off for the 3-0 lead. It was UW's sixth set piece goal of the season. On the play, McGee earned her first assist in purple and gold.

The Huskies are back home next week for a pair of Pac-12 matches against UCLA and USC. Thursday's contest against the Bruins is set for 7:00 p.m. and is Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The Dawgs will honor the senior class on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. as they matchup with the Trojans.
