Washington Beats Sacramento State, 6-1

SACRAMENTO, Calif. --- Washington rebounded for a tough loss with a solid victory on Saturday, beating Sacramento State 6-1 at the Sacramento State Tennis Complex.
The Huskies, who improve to 7-4 on the season with the victory, picked up a closely contest doubles point. The Hornets scored the first win with a 6-0 victory at No. 3 but Jack Pulliam and Adam Torocsik tied things up with a 6-1 win at No. 2. The doubles point came down to the No. 1 court where Alexis Alvarez and Jack Davis battled to a 7-5 win to clinch the point.
Washington quickly wrapped up the match with three quick wins at singles. Brandon Wong was first off with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 followed closely after by Ewen Lumsden, who won by the same score at No. 2. Jack Pulliam would clinch the match at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-1 win. A few minutes later, Liam Puttergill closed out a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5 to make it 5-0.
Jack Davis suffered a tough loss in the third-set tiebreaker, but Alvarez rallied back from a 6-1 loss in the first set to win the next two 6-1, 6-4.
Washington closes out the road trip on Sunday, facing UC Davis at Noon on Sunday before returning home to open Pac-12 play next weekend.
