DAVIS, Calif. --- Washington closed out its three-match road trip with a convincing win over a solid UC Davis squad, sweeping the Aggies 4-0 on Sunday afternoon in Davis.
The Huskies end the trip with wins in two of three matches and improve to 8-4 on the season.
Washington battled hard to earn the doubles point. After the Aggies scored a 6-1 win on No. 2 to open the match, Kailuhia Lam and Jack Pulliam tied things up with a 6-2 win at No. 3. For the second-straight match, the point rested on the No. 1 tandem of Alexis Alvarez and Jack Davis. They fell behind 4-2 early on, but rallied to tie the match at 5-5 and eventually forced a tiebreaker. They would break a 2-2 tie with five-straight points to take the tiebreaker 7-2, the match 7-6 and earn the doubles point.
The Huskies then wrapped up the match quickly in singles with three-straight set wins. Brandon Wong was first off for the second-straight day, winning 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3. Thibault Cancel picked up his first singles dual victory with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5. Ewen Lumsden then closed out the Husky win with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2.
