Quick Strikes
The UCLA Bruins At A Glance
The Bruins are under the direction of first-year head coach Ryan Jordan, who has helped guide they to a 5-6-2 record and a 1-3-1 mark in Pac-12 play thus far. UCLA has struggled defensively, allowing a conference-high 30 goals through 13 matches this season. The Bruins are in the midst of an eight-match homestand which has seen them go 2-2-2 thus far with wins over UC Riverside and San Diego State, but losses to Stanford and San Diego.
UCLA's offense is led by senior forward Milan Iloski, who has scored 15 of the team's 23 goals this season. He tallied a UCLA record five goals in the win over San Diego State and has more goals in conference play than any other Pac-12 player has in all matches. The Huskies did a good job of shutting him down earlier this year, holding Iloski without a shot for the only time this year.
Series History vs. UCLA
The Bruins hold a 32-17-3 edge in the all-time series though UW has won five of the last seven matches since 2016. Earlier this year, the Huskies cruised past the Bruins 5-0 in Seattle, scoring five goals against UCLA for the first time in the all-time series. Last season, the Huskies suffered a tough 1-0 loss in Westwood despite holding UCLA to just four shots. But UW got its revenge in Seattle, pulling out a hard-fought 2-0 victory. Despite last year's loss at UCLA, the Huskies have won two of the last three matches in Westwood.
The San Diego State Aztecs At A Glance
The Aztecs have struggled through the 2019 season, posting a 3-8-1 record and a 0-5-0 mark in Pac-12 play. They have lost four-straight matches and are just 1-6-0 over their last seven with the lone win coming as a 2-0 victory at Brown. The Huskies collected 21 of 27 first-place votes overall to earn the No. 1 spot in the official coaches poll for the first time since the Huskies spent two weeks atop the poll in 2014. UW also was ranked No. 1 two weeks in 1988. Washington opened the season outside of the top 25.
The Huskies made it a clean sweep of all four major polls, ranking No. 1 in the Top Drawer Soccer, College Soccer News and Soccer America polls this week as well.
Bodily Named Pac-12 Player of the Week
Junior midfielder Blake Bodily was named the Pac-12 Men's Soccer Player of the Week on Tuesday after assisting on the match-winner and scoring a goal of his own in the Huskies' 4-0 win over Gonzaga last week. Meek redshirted his first year, played three minutes at the end of one match last year as a freshman, and was down on the depth chart to start the year this season. Meek's first action in 2019 came in mop-up time in a 4-0 win over San Francisco. He came on in the 41st minute at No. 16 Michigan State, then scored two minutes later and didn't play again in the second half. He did not play at Michigan, but then came in late in the match at CSUN and scored UW's only goal in the 80th minute. Meek scored at Seattle, at home vs San Diego State and just 47 seconds into the match against UCLA. He didn't score against Portland which snapped a five-match goal scoring streak.

Soto comes to UW after playing for Crossfire FC with Husky teammates Charlie Ostrem and Ethan Bartlow and earned a USBNT call-up with the U17 National Team Camp in 2016. He has appeared in 13 matches, making nine starts and has three assists on the year.

Washington wrapped up its first road trip of the year with an impressive 3-1-0 record with a pair of wins in Michigan and a commanding 3-0 win over crosstown rival Seattle U. The four-game trip is the longest since 2012 when UW played five-straight away from home.
Bartlow on Fire

That goal along with his strong work along the UW backline helped him earn Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week honors for the week ending Sept. 29. Bartlow has scored a goal in each of the last two matches and has four in his career.
