
Huskies Return to Alaska Airlines Arena Thursday at 6 p.m.

Washington (12-4, 3-0) vs. Stanford (8-8, 1-3)
The Huskies return to the friendly confines of Alaska Airlines Arena and will look to extend their 3-0 start in conference play hosting Stanford on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN2 with Roxy Bernstein and LaPhonso Ellis on the call. Additionally, fans can listen to Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton on the official Husky Radio Broadcast on KOMO 1000 AM/97.7 FM. This will be the 149th meeting between the two programs with Stanford having a 77-71 record. The Cardinal have won the last three with UW's last win at home coming on Feb. 20, 2016 (64-53).
The Coach
Head Coach Mike Hopkins is in his second year at Washington, and second as a head coach after becoming the 19th head coach in UW history. After spending 22 years as an assistant at Syracuse, Hopkins oversaw teams that reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times including the 2003 National Championship, four Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 10 Sweet 16s along with four NIT berths. Syracuse never dipped below a 55.0 percent record while Hopkins was on staff. In his first year at UW, Hopkins earned the 2018 Pac-12 Coach of the Year Award while leading the Huskies to a 21-13 record ending in the second round of the NIT.

• Washington has had six different players lead the team in scoring through 16 games in David Crisp (1), Noah Dickerson (5), Jaylen Nowell (7), Dominic Green (1), Naz Carter (2) and Matisse Thybulle (2)
• Crisp has had a standout start in Pac-12 play, averaging 18.7 points, on 50 percent shooting from the field (16-of-32), 66.7 percent from 3 (12-of-18) and dishing out 3.0 assists with 1.7 steals.
• Sophomore Nowell has really seen an uptick in not just his scoring production (16.7 ppg) but in his assists as well as he currently leads the team with 56 (3.5 per game) which is up from an average of 2.7 a year ago
• Nowell has had four-straight games with at least five assists ... he's just the first player since No. 1 NBA draft pick Markelle Fultz to post at least five assists in four straight games as he did so in 2016-17 twice that season... Dejounte Murray did so as well his freshman campaign
