SEATTLE – Despite a deluge of shots, the Washington Huskies took a 1-1 draw against the Michigan State Spartans in the final game of the Husky Nike Invitational. Washington managed 35 shots in the game, led by Summer Yates' seven. Olivia Van der Jagt scored Washington's only goal and took home the Husky Nike Invitational Offensive MVP award for her efforts this week.

Four different Huskies put multiple shots on goal in the game and six managed multiple shots. Taylor Sekyra picked up a defensive save, heading a shot away from the line with an empty net behind her.

"Credit Michigan State: when you're playing that type of team… you can't fall asleep for a second and we got punished for it," said head coach Lesle Gallimore. "In general we have to drive the ball into the box a little more rather than floating it in there, but we'll be better at that. We'll keep moving forward and improving."

		SCORING
40:27 \| Van der Jagt recovered an attempted clearance deep in the box following a cross that nearly found the far corner. The sophomore dribbled to find just enough space and curved a beauty of a shot into the top corner to make it 1-0. 63:46 \| Michigan State scored on their first series of shots since early in the first half, scoring on a breakaway. Ruelas made a tremendous save on the initial ball but had it bounce away. Sekyra was there to head away the next shot but it unfortunately bounced right back to the attacker, who scored.

		NOTES
In the last four games, Van der Jagt has three goals and an assist. The last time the Huskies had 30 or more shots in a game was October 22, 2004, in a 3-2 win over Oregon State. Over the last two games, Washington has recorded 51 shots. Sianna Siemonsma now has 12 shots in five games this season, matching her total from 20 games as a freshman.
