Final Two Home Games This Weekend
April 03, 2018 | Men's Tennis
SEATTLE – Looking to bounce back after two-straight 4-3 losses, Washington men's tennis will host Arizona and No. 37 Arizona State this weekend for its final two home matches of the year.
The Huskies (10-9, 0-3 Pac-12) had a tough week at home last week. In two matches, the Dawgs lost 4-3, just falling short of a pair of wins. Senior day on Sunday will celebrate the careers of Joao Barra, Jake Douglas and Mitch Stewart. In the latest ITA rankings, Stewart is now ranked No. 81 and Douglas is at No. 90.
Arizona is 15-9 on the year, but 0-3 in conference matches. The Wildcats have won three of their last four matches.
In 2018, Arizona State is 11-7, winless in the Pac-12 so far in two matches. The Sun Devils played just one match last week, a close 4-3 loss at Utah on Saturday. They have two players ranked in singles, No. 49 Michael Geerts and No. 66 Benjamin Hannestad, and one pair ranked in doubles, No. 86 Andrea Bolla Makey Rakotomalala.
Washington will play Arizona on Friday at 5 p.m. PT and Arizona State on Sunday at noon PT. The links for live streaming and scoring can be found on the men's tennis schedule page. Matches will be outside at the Quillian Tennis Stadium unless inclement weather forces them indoors in the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
