Omaha Challenge Recap
December 10, 2018 | Baseball
Husky Baseball recently completed their fall strength and conditioning program by competing in their five team Omaha Challenge.ย The Omaha Challenge is a three day competition made up of twenty five events designed to test strength and speed while requiring stamina and teamwork to succeed in each event.
ย
In an effort to honor our Troops, Special Forces and First Responders, each team chooses the name of a Special Forces unit and is required to learn their teams military goals.ย Each Husky then honors their team by competing at the highest level possible while working to become the best teammate they can be.
ย
Coach Meggs on the Omaha Challenge:ย "This is a way for us to honor those people who make it possible for us to roll in here every day and do what we love.ย And at the end of each day after competing at a very high level, we talk about how truly lucky we are to be here.ย The Omaha Challenge helps our players become better teammates, better competitors and better people."
ย
At the end of each day points are won or lost when teams place in the top three in each event.ย After three days and twenty four events, the top two teams compete in the tug of war with the goal of being the last team standing.ย This year the LRRP's defeated TACP to earn the right to be called Omaha Challenge Champions.
ย
This year's LRRP's (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol) team consisted of:ย Jack Enger, Josh Burgmann, Kaiser Weiss, Adam Davenport, Connor Blair and Leo Nierenberg.
