Box Score Box Score Watch: Highlights vs. Cal Watch: Kaylene Pang Post-Game Interview

SEATTLE – First-half firepower carried the Washington Huskies to a big 4-1 win over the California Golden Bears Sunday. All four Husky goals came in the first 35 minutes of the game, putting Washington up big early. Kaylene Pang scored twice for her first career brace, while Ameera Hussen and Olivia Van der Jagt also had goals.

Sianna Siemonsma, Summer Yates, and Van der Jagt all earned assists in the game as well. In goal, Siena Ruelas made seven saves, matching her career high. Washington scored three times off set pieces, including two goals off corners. Hussen's goal came from a high free kick as the Huskies showed a varied offensive attack throughout.

Lesle Gallimore was happy with the team's offensive pressure, saying that "Hussen was outstanding, Olo [Van der Jagt] was as good as she's been all year, Kaylene was just something else. All in all, I was really pleased with our ability to continue to just grind away."

In all, Washington managed 16 shots in the game. The Huskies earned nine corners.

		SCORING
7:16\| A service from the corner bounced back into the high box off Siemonsma, allowing Pang to crash in deep. Pang's lifted shot beat the keeper for the game's first goal. 13:03 \| From ten yards outside the box, Hussen's free kick curved low around the wall and found the inside of the right post with ease for the goal. 26:28 \| As she dribbled back toward the high corner, Yates found a lane to thread a pass to Van der Jagt. The sophomore had enough time to take a touch before firing into the far side of the net. 30:34 \| Pang took a pass from Van der Jagt and, after a touch to beat her defender, ripped a hard, low shot across the face of goal and inside the back post. 63:39 \| Cal's only goal came when a clearance in the box unfortunately fell straight to an attacker.

		NOTES
This was Washington's second four-goal half of the season (September 16 at Seattle U). Before that, Washington had not scored four goals in a half since 2002. Pang's brace was the first of the season for UW. The team's last came September 8, 2017, when Siemonsma scored twice against Boise State. Washington's last time scoring four goals in a Pac-12 game was October 24, 2014. Van der Jagt now has 14 points, the most by a Husky since Shannon Simon's 19 in 2015.
