PULLMAN, Wash. – Tempers flared in a contentious Boeing Apple Cup Series battle, with the Washington Huskies falling 3-1 to the Washington State Cougars. The Huskies held the ball in the attacking half much of the second half and put together a furious attack after a red card gave them a man advantage, but the deficit proved too much to overcome.

Pascale Dumesnil scored Washington's goal, coming just a minute after Washington State's second goal. She would end the game with two shots, a total matched by Ameera Hussen and Kennedy Smith on Washington. Asia Brisco and Sianna Siemonsma also had shots for the Huskies.

Siemonsma also feed a beautiful flicked-on through ball to Makena Carr, nearly creating the tying goal in the last ten minutes of the game. That was one of a number of dangerous chances late for the Huskies, with Summer Yates also finding Smith alone in the box for a shot that nudged just past the far post.

"We did well to keep it 1-0 at halftime and came out in the second half playing well," said Lesle Gallimore. "It's tough to swallow, but we had a chance to even it up."

10:35\| The Cougars fired from the top of the box just over the extended fingertips of Ruelas, taking the lead 1-0. 61:12 \| Washington State got to a loose ball in the box first and put it away for a 2-0 lead. 62:18 \| Dumesnil received the ball on the wing just entering the attacking half and managed to carry it all the way to the top of the box on her own. From there, the senior ripped a perfect shot to the low right corner for the goal. 87:34 \| With the Huskies throwing everyone forward, WSU managed to clear the ball out and get to it first, making it 3-1.

		NOTES
Hussen ends the regular season with at least one shot on goal in nine of the final ten games. Dumesnil's goal gave her a new single season high in goals with three and added to her career-best point total, now at eight. Dumesnil also became the fourth Husky with three or more goals on the year, joining Yates, Kaylene Pang, and Olivia Van der Jagt.
