April 25, 2017 | Men's Tennis
SEATTLE – After finishing their regular season schedule last weekend the Washington men's tennis team prepares for the start of the Pac-12 Tournament, beginning with a matchup tomorrow April 26th against Utah at 3 p.m. in Ojai, Calif. at Libbey Park.
The Huskies dropped their season finale with Oregon last Saturday to bring their record to 12-10 (1-6 Pac-12). The junior duo of Jake Douglas and Mitch Stewart will lead the Dawgs this weekend, with Douglas picking up his 14th singles win on the year against the Ducks and Stewart remaining in the ITA Singles Rankings for the seventh consecutive week.
Washington will look to avenge a regular season loss to the Utes, when they fell 2-4 in a match on April 9th in Salt Lake City. The team has been led by sophomore David Micevski at the No. 1 position in singles this year, and recently finished their schedule with a 16-9 (2-5) record after defeating Arizona at home last weekend 4-2.
The winner of tomorrow's match will advance to the next round to face the tournament's three seed, USC at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
