SEATTLE – The Washington men's tennis team will close out their regular season schedule this weekend, as they head to Eugene, Ore. to face the Ducks on Saturday April 22nd at 2 p.m.
Washington (12-9, 1-5 Pac-12) will look to rebound after a tough weekend at home, falling to No. 15 Stanford and No. 12 California. This will be their fifth conference match on the road, and their fifth ranked Pac-12 opponent as well.
The Huskies have been guided on the court by junior Mitch Stewart and freshman Amit Batta this season. Stewart has held an ITA singles ranking since March 7th, and currently owns five wins on court one and 13 total singles victories on the year. Batta has led the team in singles wins for a majority of the season and now owns a 12-3 record during dual matches.
Oregon entered the ITA Team Rankings on February 21st this season and has remained in the top-25 ever since. Now at 22nd in the nation, the 17-5 Ducks hosted Cal last weekend and dropped a 3-4 match before upsetting Stanford on Sunday 4-3. In his 11th season, head coach Nils Schyllander's team has been led on the court by sophomore Thomas Laurent, who was ranked 24th in the last singles rankings. Although Oregon defeated the Huskies last season, Washington still leads the all-time series between the two programs with a 126-10-1 record.
Saturday's match will have a live scoring page if it is played outdoors, or a live stream page if inside. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the latest team news, and check out our website at GoHuskies.com.
