Huskies Finish 15th at Northrop-Grumman Challenge

PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The University of Washington women's golf team wrapped up its first spring tournament with a 15th-place showing at the prestigious Northrop-Grumman Challenge on Tuesday finishing with a 56-over 908 (306-298-306).
Washington was led by sophomore Wenyung Keh who carded a 9-over 222 (75-73-74) to finish tied for 39th. Keh knocked in two birdies to climb one spot on the leaderboard en route to her top 40 effort. She was followed by sophomore Julianne Alvarez who finished tied for 67th at 16-over 229 (74-77-78).
Freshman Karen Miyamoto, who joined the squad in January, tied for 77th after carding rounds of 79-70-83 in her first tournament as a Husky. Freshman Christina Wang finished fourth for UW as she posted a 20-over 233 (78-77-78) to finish 80th overall.
Just behind her was sophomore Sarah Rhee who climbed two spots on the final day, matching her round two total of 5-over 76 to push her to a 21-over 234 (82-76-76), which was tied for 81st. Playing as an individual, freshman EunWon Park also tied for 81st as she carded her best round of the event Tuesday with a 4-over 75 for a three-day total of 21-over 234 (78-81-75).
The Huskies return to the course on Feb. 19 at the AllState Sugar Bowl Invitational held in New Orleans, La.
