Huskies Kick Off Fall Season With UCSB Classic

SEATTLE – The Washington men's tennis team travels to Santa Barbara, California this weekend to participate in the first tournament of the fall season, the UCSB Classic, playing from Oct. 6-8.

The UC Santa Barbara will be hosting the tournament this weekend. There will be players participating from Pepperdine, California, Fresno State, Stanford, Pacific, Saint Mary's, Loyola Marymount, UCLA and Cal Poly. In the UCSB Classic, there is a championship bracket and a consolation bracket.

Washington will be represented in singles by seven Huskies. This will be the first collegiate competition for freshmen Alexis Alvarez and Jack Davis.

The singles competition is broken into four flights: A, B, C and D. The first round pairings are as follows:
Flight A:
Enzo Sommer (UW) v. Anders Holm (UCSB)
Nicolas Moreno (UCSB) v. Joao Barra (UW)

Flight B:
Jack Davis (UW) v. Kento Perera (Stanford)
Piers Foley (UW) v. Henrik Atlevi (UCSB)

Flight C:
Kawika Lam (UW) v. Joseph Rotheram (UCSB)
Bernardo Oliveira (Pacific) v. Sebastian Hawken (UW)
Jacob Lagman (Saint Mary's) v. Alexis Alvarez (UW)

There is also a doubles section that also has A, B, C and D flights. UW has three pairings in the first round:
Flight A:
Moser/Soke (Fresno State) v. Sommer/Lam (UW)

Flight B:
Davis/Alvarez (UW) v. Damiens/Enander (Cal Poly)

Flight C:
Campana/Jordaan (Saint Mary's) v. Hawken/Foley (UW)
