
Yuan Moves Into Third Place After Two Rounds At Nike Invitational

NORTH PLAINS, Ore. - Carl Yuan continued his hot play, carding a 5-under 66 to drop to 8-under overall to move into third place in medalist play after the second round of the Nike Collegiate Invitational played on Monday at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club Witch Hallow course in North Plains, Oregon.
Yuan ended up being the lone Husky to record a round under par as Washington gave back three strokes as a team, dropping two positions to 11th in the standings with a 3-over 287 to give the squad a two-round score of 1-over 569. Stanford moved into the team lead with a 21-under 547, two shots ahead of Oklahoma's 19-under 549.
Yuan played a bogey-free round, opening the day with three birdies on the first four holes to finish out the front nine at 3-under. He added birdies on 11 and 13 to finish the day at 5-under. His performance on the day moved him up 10 spots on the leaderboard into third place overall with an 8-under 134 (68-66) where he trails the leader--Stanford's Brandon Wu--by three strokes.
Frank Garber had a solid round, finishing at even-par on the day after a tough bogey on the final hole dropped him out of the red. Garber sits tied for 21st overall at 2-under 140 (69-71) through two rounds.
Henry Lee finished the round at 3-over 74 after a tough 8 on the par-4 11th. He would respond with a birdie two holes later and play out the round at par to card the 74. Lee is in 48th place overall at 3-over 145 (71-74).
Noah Woolsey carded a 5-over 76 and is at 8-over 150 (74-76) through two rounds while Jordan Lu finished at 8-over 79 to sit at 257 (78-79).
The Huskies close out the competition on Tuesday as Washington will be in an all-Pac-12 grouping, joining Arizona and USC beginning at 8:30 a.m.
