Koelle Named Big Ten Golfer Of The Week

SEATTLE – For the second time in his career, Washington's Finn Koelle has been tabbed Big Ten Golfer of the Week following his historic performance at the Sahalee Players Championship.

He last earned the honor on March 5, 2026 following a seventh-place finish at the Southern Highlands Collegiate.

Koelle headed to the final hole of the tournament, the par 3 9th at Sahalee Country Club, two shots off of Illinois' Max Herendeen's lead and drained his tee shot into the cup for a walk-off ace. He ended up winning the tournament by two shots at 7-under (209). His final round 66 matched the low round of the tournament.

Over the 54 holes, lead the field with 15 birdies and two eagles. Koelle became the first Husky individual medalist since Taehoon Song at the Husky Invitational at Gold Mountain Golf Club in 2024.

Koelle is now ranked 33rd in the Men's World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR®) following his victory.
