March 01, 2016 | Women's Basketball
SAN FRANCISCO – Monday night on Pac-12 Networks 'Sports Report', the conference unveiled the Pac-12 Women's Basketball All-Century Team with Husky alum Jamie Redd being honored.
Redd was named to the 20-player team as one of the eight guards selected by a panel media, Pac-12 staff, coaches and players. The 1999 Washington alum was once the Dawgs all-time leading scorer before being passed by Jazmine Davis and Kelsey Plum the past two seasons.
Redd was a three-time All-Pac-12 player for the Dawgs, leading the team in scoring and assists all four years. She took over as the Huskies' all-time leading scorer in 1999 with 2,027 points, a record that stood for 16 years.
Redd's best season came in 1996-97 when she averaged 20.5 points and 5.8 assists, while leading the Dawgs to a 17-11 record and a trip to the first of two trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Originally from San Francisco, Redd first made a name for herself at the Nike/WBCA All-America Game in high school when she was named the MVP. She committed to Washington soon after and went on to a legendary career.
After leaving Washington, Redd played three seasons in the WNBA with the Seattle Storm.
In addition to the All-Century Team, Cheryl Miller of USC and Tara VanDerveer of Stanford were named the Player and Coach of the Century in the Pac-12.
