
Huskies Named To The NSCAA All-Far West Region Team

SEATTLE - Washington redshirt senior Justin Schmidt and junior Henry Wingo earned NSCAA All-Far West Region first team honors. Redshirt junior Auden Schilder and redshirt sophomore Kyle Coffee were selected to the all-region second team, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.
Schmidt and Wingo both earn their second straight all-region awards after being named to the first team and third team last season, respectively.
Schmidt, a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team in November. He finished the season with three goals, the second most on the team and two assists. After scoring a game winning goal in double overtime at Stanford, Schmidt found himself on College Soccer News; National Team of ht Week on Nov. 1.
Wingo, a Seattle native, started and played in 20 games this season. He missed one game as a result of a redcard issued during the match against Seattle U. Additionally, he earned All-Pac-12 second team honors this season. In his 20 matches he recorded one goal and two assists. His lone goal of the season came in a 1-0 win over UCLA on Nov. 3. Wingo entered the season ranked No. 75 on Top Drawer's Top 100.
Schilder, who hails from Bellingham, Wash., played in 20 matches, starting in 19. He inked 75 saves in his premiere season as the Huskies' starting goalkeeper. He totaled five shutouts, including a shutout at Stanford, their first loss at home since 2014. The goalkeeper was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week and selected to Top Drawer's Team of the Week on Nov. 1. He was also given a Pac-12 All-Conference second team nod.
Coffee, a native of Syracuse, Utah, was an offensive leader for the Dawgs this season. He played in all 21 matches, starting in 14. The redshirt sophomore had three goals and two assists on the season. He was given honorable mention for the Pac-12's All-Conference team.
