Washington opens Pac-12 Conference play this Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. as cross-state rival Washington State will come to Alaska Airlines Arena. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU with Roxy Bernstein and Corey Williams on the call. Additionally, fans can tune into KOMO 1000AM/97.7FM to hear Bob Rondeau and Jason Hamilton call the action. UW leads the all-time series 181-102 and have won the last three match-ups along with nine of the last 11. The Dawgs are also in the midst of seven-straight games in Seattle, six taking place at Alaska Airlines Arena.
The Coach
Head Coach Lorenzo Romar, in his 15th year at Washington, has amassed a 296-179 (.623) during his time in Seattle and an overall mark of 389-267 (.593) in 21 seasons. Romar, the longest tenured coach in the Pac-12, has taken the Huskies to the NCAA tournament six times including three Sweet 16 appearances.
