
UW To Face WSU For Final Match Of 2016 Season

SEATTLE – In their final match of the 2016 regular season the Washington women's soccer team will travel to Pullman to face in-state rival Washington State on Thursday November 3rd at 7 p.m.
The Huskies (7-11-1, 2-8-0 Pac-12) picked up their second conference win this past Thursday in a 2-1 win over Oregon after Becca Schoales scored a game-winner in the 77th minute. Fellow junior Kimberly Keever netted the first goal of the match in the 21st minute to give UW the early 1-0 lead, before the Ducks tied it up in the 72nd. It was UW's 15th victory over Oregon in their 21st ever matchup.
On Sunday the Huskies were unable to find the back of the net against Oregon State and fell 1-0 after the Beavers scored on a free kick in the 61st minute.
Having played the same two opponents as UW this past weekend, Washington State (7-9-2, 2-7-1 Pac-12) will enter Thursday night's match after grabbing their second conference win as well. The Cougars began their weekend by defeating Oregon State 2-1, before drawing with Oregon 1-1 on Sunday.
Their leading scorer, Morgan Weaver, has started all 18 matches for WSU and recorded eight goals as a freshman, including a hat trick against North Dakota State and a brace against Seattle U. In goal the Cougars most recently started senior Alexis Thode against Oregon, however redshirt sophomore Ella Dederick has seen a majority of the action this season, starting in the previous 17 matches. Dederick has recorded two shutouts this year, and grabbed 56 saves while owning a 1.13 goals against average.
