Huskies Set For Summer League Ball

SEATTLE - Washington Baseball will be well represented in the Pacific Northwest and around the country as summer league baseball kicks into full swing. Nine returning players and eight newcomers will be playing summer ball at various locations.
Outfielder Jack Meggs will be representing the Huskies in the Cape Cod League for the Brewster Whitecaps. Recent third round draft pick Braden Bishop played for the same squad in 2014.
Shortstop Chris Baker will also continue the tradition of having a Husky play in the Northwoods League as he will play for the LaCrosse Loggers. Meggs and recent third-round draft pick Austin Rei both played for LaCrosse in 2014.
Junior Josh Cushing is venturing out east to Virginia and will play for the Strasburg Express of the Valley League. Sophomore Kyle London is also out east playing for the Lima Locos of the Great Lakes League.
A pair of freshmen are spending their summer playing in areas known for cold-weather winter climates. Shane Olson will play for the Boulder Collegians in the Rocky Mountain League, while Nyles Nygaard will head north and play for the Matsu Miners in the Alaska League.
A majority of players are going to play locally in the West Coast League. KJ Brady, Channing Nesbitt and junior college transfer Alex Galgano will play for the Bellingham Bells. Also staying in the state are incoming freshmen Willie MacIver and Joe DeMers for the Walla Walla Sweets and AJ Graffanino for the Cowlitz Black Bears. Andy Cosgrove and Alex Nesbitt will play for the Corvallis Knights in Oregon.
Veteran Huskies Levi Jordan and Ryan Schmitten will team up on the Cheney Studs of the Pacific International League.
Incoming freshmen Peyton Lacoste, Blake Burton and Karl Kani will all play for the Rainier Snowcaps of the NW Collegiate League.
Dallas Tessar is going to stay closer to home before embarking on his Husky career playing for the Santa Paula Halos of the California Collegiate League.
