LOS ANGELES - Tim Lincecum took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and freshman right fielder Matt Hague went 4-for-5 as the Washington baseball team shut out UCLA, 6-0, Friday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
Lincecum (8-6) ended up allowing two hits over seven innings, walking five and striking out 11 for the victory. Reliever Matt Kasser faced the minimum over the final two innings to finish the shutout.
Lincecum lost the no-hitter with one out in the seventh when UCLA catcher Chris Denove doubled off the right-field wall.
Husky shortstop Brent Lillibridge, a junior from Jackson High, broke the UW career doubles record. With two on the night, Lillibridge now has 51 two-baggers, breaking the mark of 50 held by former Husky shortstop Tila Reynolds (2000-03).
Washington (31-22 overall, 10-12 in Pac-10 play) took a quick lead in the first as Hague belted a two-out solo homer to left, his eighth home run of the season.
The Huskies tacked on two more in the fourth. Hague singled and Zach Clem doubled to open the inning, putting runners at second and third with no outs. Kyle Larsen and Nick Batkoski followed with a groundout and a sacrifice fly, respectively, giving the Huskies a 3-0 lead.
In the fourth, Washington got a two-out rally started with a double from Lillibridge. Hague followed with a double and the UW lead increased to 4-0.
Washington got its fifth run in the sixth when designated hitter Matt Lane belted a solo homer, his fourth of the year and first since returning from an injury that had him out of the batting order for nearly five weeks.
In the seventh, Lillibridge broke the record with his second double of the night and Hague followed with his fourth hit and third RBI of the evening, singling through the right side to plate Lillibridge.
Starter Hector Ambriz (3-7) took the loss for the Bruins (15-39, 4-18), allowing six runs on nine hits over seven innings.
