Lincecum Fans 11 In 11-6 Win Over Missouri

SEATTLE - Freshman pitcher Tim Lincecum struck out 11 in six innings to earn his first career victory and redshirt-freshman right fielder Matt Tucker drove in four runs and hit his first career home run as the Washington baseball team beat Missouri, 11-5, Saturday in the second game of a three-game series at Husky Ballpark.
The win broke a three-game losing streak for the Huskies (7-4), who were beaten by Missouri 16- 2 in the series opener. Missouri, which had won five straight, fell to 11-3 on the year.
Lincecum, who led Liberty High to the state 3A title last year, struck out the side in the first, all on called third strikes. He got the first seven outs of the game via strikeout and fanned eight of the first 11 overall. Lincecum (1-0), who had not earned a decision in his first three starts, allowed only one unearned run on nine hits over six innings to pick up the win.
Washington struck first blow of the game in the second inning, when sophomore Zach Clem belted a one-out, solo home run, the first of his career.
The Huskies tacked on three more in the fourth inning. An RBI single from Tucker drove in one and Brent Lillibridge followed with a two-run double, increasing the UW lead to 4-0.
Tucker provided all three Husky runs in the fifth when he drilled a two-out, three-run homer into the bullpen in left field. Clem picked up his second RBI of the game with an RBI double in the sixth. In the eighth, pinch hitter Nick Batkoski drove in three more UW runs with a two-out, bases-loaded double.
Missouri second baseman Jeremy Hernandez drove in two of Missouri's runs with RBI singles in the fifth and eighth innings. He finished the game 3-for-4 with three singles.
Ryan Rallo hit his second homer of the weekend and fourth of the year in the ninth to give Mizzou its third run. Missouri scored four in the ninth as Cody Ehlers notched his second double and scored on a sacrifice fly, James Boone drove in another with a double to wrap up the scoring.
Lillibridge, who had his 14-game hit streak broken Friday night, went 3-for-5.
Missouri starting pitcher Erik Dessau, who entered the game 3-0 with a miniscule 0.45 earned run average, took the loss to fall to 3-1. Dessau, a junior righty, allowed two run on three hits before leaving the game in the fourth inning.
Sunday's series finale has been moved to an 11:00 a.m. start.
