PORTLAND, Ore. - Washington's 47-game road trip came to an end on Monday against Portland State, as the No. 1 Huskies swept the Vikings in a doubleheader, 6-0 and 8-3, to improve to 43-4 on the season. UW opens its home season on Friday at 2 p.m. against No. 4 Arizona State.

The Huskies scored all six of their runs in the opener in the third frame, five of them off consecutive home runs by Jaime Clark walked to set the table for Topping's shot, her fourth grand slam of the season. Melissa Downs then put her second ball of the year over the fence for the final run.

Jamie Graves (19-3) pitched five innings in the win and struck out four before Shannon Walsh relieved her.

UW scattered eight runs over four innings in the nightcap and got a third dinger of the day from Erin Helgeland, which led off the third inning. DePaul then walked and Clark singled before a single by Downs brought both home to put the Dawgs up, 3-0.

Christie Rosenblad walked to lead off the next frame and moved to third on an error during Kelly Hauxhurst's at-bat. Becky Simpson then singled to bring Rosenblad around. Another error brought Hauxhurst home. Two singles in the fifth inning produced two more runs. Topping hit to lead off and Downs sacrificed her to second. Topping scored on Helgeland's single, which moved Rosenblad to third, who then scampered home on a passed ball.

The final run came in the sixth inning, when Simpson walked, Clark doubled her to third and Topping knocked her home. Portland State pushed runs across in the fourth, sixth and seventh frames.

Bridget Wilcox earned her first win of the season, throwing five innings before Walsh relieved her in the sixth.
