UW Men's Tennis Shuts Out Gonzaga 7-0

SEATTLE, Wash. - - The Washington men's tennis team, ranked No. 22 in the nation, defeated the University of Gonzaga tennis team today 7-0 under the spring sun in the Bill Quillian Stadium. Washington's record now stands at 12-5.
Each Washington player defeated their opponent in straight sets. In the No. 1 spot, freshman Matt Hanlin defeated senior Jeff Shin, 6-2, 6-1. Fellow frosh Ari Strasberg defeated junior Burak Berksoy, 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 2 spot.
Junior Andy Posavac and senior Nick Quatrochi started out the day strong with a doubles win over Burak Berksoy and Joe Zavaglia, 8-1. Posavac went to win his singles match against Zavaglia, 6-1, 6-2.
The Huskies host Oregon on Sunday at noon. The match will be played in the Bill Quillian Stadium, weather permitting. Otherwise the match will be held in the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center.
