Offense Struggles In Loss To Toreros

SEATTLE (AP) - San Diego's Andre Laws scored a team-high 11 points as the Toreros beat the Washington Huskies 72-54 Saturday.
The combination of Washington's poor shooting, defense and San Diego's ability to make uncontested shots led to an easy victory for the Toreros, snapping their two-game losing streak.
San Diego (8-3) shot 48-percent for the game, while Washington was 36 percent from the field. The Huskies' 54 points was their lowest total of the season.
The Huskies made their final two 3-point attempts of the game, snapping an 0-for-24 drought that spanned 82 minutes and 14 seconds. Grant Leep's 3-pointer with 2:49 to play in the game was the Huskies' first since their Dec. 21 game against Clemson.
San Diego ended up with their largest margin of victory since beating Occidental 79-48 in the season opener on Nov. 18.
Sam Adamo scored 10 points for the Toreros.
Washington (6-5) was led by Will Perkins, who scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Perkins has not practiced for the past two weeks because of a virus that forced him to miss one game this season. David Dixon came off the bench and matched a career high with 12 points in only 12 minutes on the floor. Michael Johnson added 11.
Washington was down 18-8 after back-to-back 3-pointers from Matt Delzell and Laws with 13 minutes to play in the first half. The Huskies responded with a 6-0 run that included two baskets from Dixon inside.
Dixon returned to the bench and San Diego outscored Washington 25-13 over the final 10 minutes of the first half. Dixon saw only five minutes of action in the first half and scored six points on 3-of-5 shooting and pulled down three rebounds.
The Toreros outscored the Huskies 6-0 over the final minute of the half and held a 43-28 advantage.
