High School and Personal: Born in Los Angeles … parents are Melanie Meyer and Tom Whalley … one of nine siblings, as she has five brothers and three sisters … older sister, Kristin, played volleyball at Boston College … named to the All-CIF 1AA First Team in California as a senior … named her team’s MVP and was named First Team All-League as Marymount won the Sunshine League title … ranked in the 101-250 range in the Senior Aces list from PrepVolleyball.com … as a junior, played setter as Marymount won the California state title … named a Mizuno/Volleyball Magazine Third Team All-American in 2012 … also helped Marymount to a state runner-up finish in 2011 … played for the Sunshine Volleyball Club and coach Cari Klein since 2008 … helped her team to third at the Junior Nationals club tourney in 2010, as well as eighth in 2012 and 26th in 2013 … club team took sixth at the 2014 Las Vegas Classic … also was second in the 2014 Kansas Qualifier … graduated with a 3.5 GPA … also considered UCLA, Arizona, and Yale.
