Ed Moore joined the University of Washington women's soccer program as an assistant coach in August of 2021.
“Ed is a fantastic addition to our staff,” Van Dyke said. “He comes highly experienced and has a track record of producing and developing high quality goalkeepers. He brings great energy and enthusiasm to everything that he does and we are so fortunate to have him and his family join us here at UW. We gained a great coach and an even better person. Time to get to work!”
Moore comes to Washington after one season as the head coach at Pacific University. Additionally, Moore has amassed 15 years of experience as an assistant coach at the collegiate level, including seven seasons at Boise State and two seasons each at Seattle U, Saint Mary’s and Duke. He has also coached in three different NCAA Tournaments.
“I am thrilled to be joining such an outstanding staff here at UW and to have the opportunity to work at a program with such amazing history and tradition,” Moore said. “UW is a world-class university and its soccer program has produced numerous world-class players. I was blown away by the people I met during the interview process and their commitment to supporting these student-athletes both on and off the field. I am grateful to Nicole and Tina for the chance to work with such an accomplished staff and I cannot wait to get started. Go Dawgs!”
With the Boise State program, Moore focused mainly on the goalkeepers, but was also an integral part of both individual and team development while being a key component in the Broncos' team culture.
The 2018 season saw the Broncos win their first Mountain West regular season title in program history and earn the No. 1 seed at the conference tournament.
Moore was instrumental in the development of Boise State's 25 all-conference selections since he joined the staff. Brooke Heidemann became the first all-region honoree in program history as a senior in 2015, before Raimee Sherle was named the Mountain West Newcomer of the Year in 2016. Additionally, Janelle Flores became the first Bronco goalkeeper to earn first-team all-conference recognition.
Moore joined Boise State after spending two years as an assistant coach with the men's soccer team at Seattle where he was involved in all aspects of the team's training, recruiting and fundraising.
Prior to his time with the Redhawks, Moore served as the goalkeeper coach for the men's team at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., from 2009-11 and was also hired as the executive director of the Jackson Futbol Club.
Moore's coaching career began at his alma mater of Evansville, where he served as the volunteer goalkeeper coach in 2003 immediately after his playing career ended. After a year with the Evansville men's team, where he trained current MLS goalkeeper Troy Perkins, he made a move to the women's side volunteering as an assistant coach with Duke from 2004-06. Moore was also a full-time assistant in the West Coast Conference with Saint Mary's from 2006-07.
He was a goalkeeper at Evansville from 1999-2003, where he also gained experience in the Professional Development league with the Jackson Chargers (1999), Coco Expos (2000) and Kansas City Brass (2001).
Moore is married to his wife, Maureen Wishkoski, and the two have a son, Milo.
