Thomas Wenk '22 has returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach at the start of the 2025-26 school year.
Wenk, who was a four-year member of the Husky program returns to Seattle after having spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach with the Columbia University lightweights program in New York.
A product of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the Cincinnati Junior Rowing Club, Wenk was the coxswain of the Huskies' freshman eight during the 2019 season, leading that crew to the Pac-12 Championship before coxing the UW's third varsity eight to the national title at IRAs.
After the pandemic canceled his sophomore season, Wenk coxed the varsity four to Pac-12 and IRA championships as a junior in 2021. As a senior in 2022, he won a silver medal in the varsity four at IRAs.
Along the way, he was named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll in 2020, the IRA All-Academic Team in 2021, and to the IRCA Scholar-Athlete Team in 2022. He graduated from Washington with a degree in biochemistry.
