Kim Durand serves as the Deputy Athletic Director for Student Services and is the Senior Woman Administrator. In her role, Durand leads and manages all student-athlete academic services and student-athlete development programs. She serves on the UW Athletics Executive Leadership team and is the sport administrator for softball and volleyball.
Durand is actively engaged in the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A). She was the National President from 2014-15 and served as the Director of the Professional Development Institute from 2005-2022.
Durand was awarded the 2011 N4A Lan Hewlitt award, recognizing sustained professional service in the field of academic advising for student-athletes and significant contributions to the field through professional involvement, development, and leadership in university affairs. In 2019, she received the N4A Distinguished Service award recognizing career service to the organization.
Before her time at UW, Durand served as Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services at UCLA from 1999-2005. Her experience also includes acting as Associate Director of Degree and Career Counseling in the University of Kansas Athletics Department from 1994-1999.
Durand graduated from the University of Oregon with degrees in Rhetoric & Communication and Psychology. She also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Policy & Management, with an emphasis in higher education administration from the University of Oregon.
