BELLEVUE, Wash. – Washington dropped the final nonconference game of the season on Tuesday, falling to Seattle U 4-3.

The Huskies move to 21-27 on the season.

Washington surrendered four runs in the first but responded in the second. Landon Young got the frame started with a triple and was brought home on an Ian Draper RBI groundout.

Kevin Spear added a sacrifice fly to bring in the second run before Jackson Hotchkiss belted a solo shot.

The sophomore now has 17 bombs on the year and has slugged a long ball in each of the last three games.

The Huskies held Seattle U scoreless in seven straight innings after giving up the four spot in the first frame, but couldn't find the offense to get back in front.

Jaxson Gore made the start and finished with 2.0 innings pitched, five hits, and four runs allowed.

Tyler Walker, Liam Lierman, Tommy Brandenburg, and Gunnar Nichols each pitched in relief and surrendered just five hits combined with seven strikeouts and no runs.

Jackson Hotchkiss and Landon Young both had two knocks on the day to lead the Dawgs. Young recorded a triple, the 16th three-bagger for the Huskies this season.

Washington returns to action on Friday, starting a three-game series at Penn State. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. PT.
