Dawgs In 13th After 36 Holes At Western Intercollegiate
April 14, 2026 | Men's Golf
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Washington men's golf moved into 13th-place following a second round of 26-over. UW is 37-over after 36 holes.
"Really tough day for us," head coach Alan Murray said. "Everyone played poorly and hard to find any positives if I am to be honest.
"Just have to take it on the chin and we have one more tournament round before the Big Ten championship in 2 weeks. We need to show what we are made of and make sure we put a strong final round together," Murray added.
Emil Herstad posted the best round of the day for Washington with a 4-over (74). After an opening hole double bogey, Herstad was able to keep it to 2-over over the final 17 holes.
Finn Koelle and Jake Foley posted round of 5-over (75). Grady Millar and Jack Murphy had rounds of 76 (+6). Brock Maulding rounded out the lineup with a 9-ver (79).
"Golf will beat you up at times and learning from it is the most important thing. We need to show some fighting spirit and create some positive momentum," Murray concluded.
Washington will play alongside Hawaii, UC Irvine and individuals in the final round beginning at 7:40 a.m. PT off hole No. 1. Live scoring can be found on Clippd and coverage will begin on Golf Channel at 4 p.m. PT.
