Dawgs Named GCAA/Cobalt All-America Scholar

SEATTLE – Washington's Finn Koelle and Brock Maulding have been named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced today.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Last season, Koelle earned second team All-Big Ten honors and was the runner-up at the Big Ten Championships. Koelle qualified for the NCAA Corvallis Regional as an individual where he had a Top 10 finish, shooting a 208 (-5) to place in a tie for ninth. Koelle was second on the team with a 71.9 scoring average where he led the Dawgs in five tournaments. Academically, Koelle earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors and was a member of the Big Ten Spring Academic Team.
Maulding posted a 74.9 scoring average in his seven events last season. Maulding posted a career-best T11 finish at The Tindall where he shot a 211 (-5) where he helped the Dawgs to a third-place finish at the tournament. This summer, Maulding advanced to the final stage of US Open qualifying by finishing a tie for third at Meadow Springs Country Club. Off the course, Maulding was named to the Big Ten Spring Academic Team.
