SEATTLE – The NCAA Indoor Championships bring the first half of the 2026 track calendar to a thrilling conclusion this weekend, as the best of the best arrive in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Washington is represented by a dozen entries split evenly between its men's and women's squads, as the Huskies vie for titles and podium finishes. All the action at indoors is packed into just two days, this Friday and Saturday, Mar. 13-14, at the Randal Tyson Center.
The meet schedule will alternate between men's and women's events on the track. ESPN+ will live stream the action.
The men's team is looking for a fifth consecutive Top-25 finish at NCAA Indoors and heads into the meet ranked No. 11 in the national TFRI. The women's team had its best finish in program history last year, placing fourth at NCAA Indoors in Virginia Beach, with every UW entry reaching the podium to help the team score. This season the women are ranked 17th going in.
Team placing as always is based upon scores put up by the individuals and relays. Every individual event and relay awards points for the top-eight finishes, with 10 points for first, 8 for second, 6 for third, then 5-4-3-2-1 for places four through eight. The USTFCCCA All-America format also remains the same, with First Team status for top-eight finishers, and Second Team status for 9-16 finishers.
The action from a purple perspective begins on Friday at 2:45 p.m. Pacific time, with the men's pole vault final featuring School Record-holder James Rhoads.
Twenty minutes later, the women's and men's mile semifinals get rolling. At 3:05 p.m. PT, Mia Cochran and Chloe Foerster will try to make the cut down to ten in order to advance to Saturday's final. The same goes for Thom Diamond and Reuben Reina in the men's mile semifinals, starting at 3:20 p.m. PT.
School Record-holder Chloe Thomas will take on the women's 5k field at 5:05 p.m., and then Evan Jenkins makes his individual NCAA Championship debut in the men's 5k at 5:25 p.m.
Friday night ends with the DMRs, with UW featured in both 12-team fields. The women run at 6:15 p.m. PT and the men go at 6:30 p.m. The final lineups may change depending on how the mile semifinals play out, but expect to see Julia David-Smith, Chloe Symon, and Jenica Swartz involved in the women's relay, while the men will have Alex Rhodes, Tyler Bilyard, Josiah Tostenson and Jamar Distel to draw from.
Saturday starts with the women's pole vault final at 2:00 p.m. PT with 2024 Indoor Champion and 2025 Outdoor Champion Hana Moll coming in as the top seed, competing along with freshman Veronica Vacca.
The women's mile final is slated for 2:10 p.m. followed right away by the men's mile final at 2:20 p.m. The final race for UW will be the men's 3,000m final at 4:25 p.m. with Reuben Reina doubling back from the mile.
