Li Places Top 10 As Dawgs Wrap Juli Inkster Invitational

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Washington women's golf team wrapped play today at the Juli Inkster Invitational at TPC Harding Park. The Dawgs snatched a fifth place mark of 14 teams sitting alongside San Jose State, California, Santa Clara, and UC Davis in the top five. Washington tallied 18-over to finish the tournament with a total score of 893.
Amber Li started a comeback round today, sinking three birdies to get one under on her first 18 holes. She clutched a top 10 position, sitting at 8th overall on the leaderboard with a score of 73.
Wendy Tang delivered a consistent performance throughout the tournament, finishing tied for 30th, carding +10 to close with a 79 in the final round.
Mads Smith also finished tied for 30th after posting a 10-over-par total of 226. Smith opened the tournament with a standout three-under-par 69 in the first round before finishing the event with a final-round 82 for an overall score of 226.
Carmen Lim finished 37th overall with a 12-over-par total of 228. After opening the tournament with an even-par 72, Lim carded a 79 in the final round.
Athena Ni rounded out the Husky lineup, having a solid final round of three-over, finishing 53rd with a total of 232 after scoring 156 in the first two rounds.
"There were a lot of good takeaways from this event," said head coach Anna Temple. "A top 10 finish by Amber was a solid tournament for her, and it was great to see Mads have a good day yesterday and some good improvements from everyone. We head back to Seattle for finals and are excited about our next trip to Tempe in a little over a week."
Washington will kick it off again at the ASU Invitational taking place from March 23rd to March 25th in Tempe, Ariz.
