Lim In First Place Through Day One At BabyGrande Guadalajara Invitational

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – The Washington women's golf team opened play early Friday morning at the Collegiate Invitational at GCC presented by Babygrande Golf, finishing day one tied for seventh out of 12 teams. The team had a score of 443 after 27 holes, highlighted by a tournament-leading performance from Carmen Lim.
Lim led the Huskies with an impressive showing, holding first place at the invitational. She posted an eight-under-par, firing five-under through the first 18 holes before adding a three-under on the back nine and totaling nine birdies on the day.
Wendy Tang followed for Washington at three-over to sit tied for 24th in the 63-player tournament. Athena Ni posted a six-over-par total and is tied for 35th, while Mads Smith carded a 118 to sit tied at 53rd. Claudia Alnajim rounded out the Husky lineup with a score of 123.
"It's great to be back in competition again!" said head coach Anna Temple. "Carmen came out with 24 bogey-free holes to start and got us off to a tremendous start! Everyone had some strong moments out there and we have a great opportunity tomorrow in front of us."
Washington will continue play Saturday with another 27-hole day at the BabyGrande Guadalajara Invitational, with Husky tee times beginning at 6:50 am PST.
