Husky Trio Caps Quick Trip To NYC
January 24, 2026 | Track & Field
NEW YORK – Three Huskies spent a quick two days at the Armory facility in New York this weekend, competing in the Dr. Sander Scorcher hosted by Columbia. Freshman Chloe Symon raced the 800-meters, senior Chloe Foerster ran the mile, and senior Jenica Swartz raced both distances.
Friday was the 800-meter race for Swartz and Symon. In the top invitational section, Swartz had a gap to close on the top two runners and caught one just before the finish to take second overall in 2:04.93. That puts her up to No. 9 in UW history indoors. Symon was fourth overall in 2:05.75, not quite a season's-best but her second run this season under 2:06.
In the mile today, Swartz was second overall again in the invitational section, running a time of 4:39.30. Foerster raced the Pro-Elite field. She opened up in the back of the pack and made multiple attempts to push forward but couldn't find a window. Foerster finished 13th overall today in 4:39.84.
Next week Washington hosts the UW Invitational and Mile City events back in the Dempsey, on Jan. 30-31.
