Washington Falls In Lincoln To Unbeaten Huskers
January 21, 2026 | Men's Basketball
LINCOLN, Neb. – Zoom Diallo and Hannes Steinbach did it all for the Huskies Wednesday night in Lincoln, as Washington fell to the undefeated 7th-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers 66-76 inside Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Steinbach recorded his 11th career double-double, producing a team-high 21 points and 12 boards on an efficient 7-of-12 shooting night.
Diallo had himself a game as well as the only other Husky in double figures, adding 18 points, five rebounds and six assists.
Franck Kepnang and JJ Mandaquit each put up six points for Washington and Jacob Ognacevic added five to go along with two boards in his first start as a Husky.
Washington outrebounded the Huskers 33-11 and outscored Nebraska 40-26 inside the paint. UW went on a 6-0 run in the final 1:17 to close out the game and win the second half, 38-35, but it wasn't enough against the Huskers, who improve to 19-0 on the season.
UW returns home briefly for one game against Oregon on Sunday, Jan. 25 before heading back to the Midwest to take on Illinois and Northwestern.
