SEATTLE – Washington dropped its second consecutive game to a top-15 team, falling to No. 12 Michigan State 80-63 at Alaska Airlines Arena on Saturday.
Zoom Diallo led the Huskies (10-8, 2-5 Big Ten) with 18 points for his ninth-straight game in double digits.
UW led 10-9 and battled for most of the first half but was down eight at the break.
The Huskies pulled within five in the second half but could not take the lead.
Hannes Steinbach finished with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Franck Kepnang recorded 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting for his third game in double figures in his last four. His six field goals tied a season high.
In what was UW's second-straight game against a top-15 team and third in the last four games, the Huskies outscored the Spartans 42-32 in the paint.
Both teams shot 47% from the field.
The Huskies travel to Nebraska for a Wednesday matchup before returning home next Sunday for a rivalry game against Oregon.
