
Purohit Returns From Tulsa With One Win

SEATTLE – Husky junior Soham Purohit wrapped up a 1-1 weekend at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, getting a round one win on Saturday in prequalifying, before dropping a heartbreaker in round two on Sunday that came down to a third-set tiebreak.
Purohit opened up with an All-Big Ten all-purple 6-4, 6-3 victory over Cyrus Mahjoob from Northwestern. In the second round he faced Alexandre Verlaguet of Stetson. Purohit won the first set, 6-4, but lost set two, 2-6, and the third set went into a tiebreaker, with Verlaguet winning it, 7-1.
Washington's next fall competition will be the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic hosted by University of San Diego from Oct. 3-5.
