Run Ends For Dawgs In Ohio, Fall To No.1 Ohio State In Semifinals

The match comes after a 4-3 quarterfinals win over fifth seed Nebraska yesterday.ย
The day started with three close matches in the doubles round. Ultimately, the Buckeyes won the majority of matches, giving them a one-point lead going into singles.
With a deficit at their backs, the Dawgs needed four wins in singles to clinch the match. Ohio State came out with two wins, putting them up 3-1. Washington's Dzianis Zharyn responded with a win, though, putting a point on the board for the Dawgs. He took down Alexander Bernard in two straight sets.ย
While the Dawgs still led in a couple of matches, the Buckeyes clinched the match with a win on court 5.ย
Cesar Bouchelaghem was involved in a close match with Aidan Kim when the match was clinched, playing out a third set. Soham Purohit also led in his match against Will Jansen but was unable to finish. The match finished in a 1-4 overall score.ย
The Huskies end their weekend in a good spot to make the NCAA tournament this year. The selection will be announced on Monday, April 28th at 2:30 p.m. PDT.ย
