
Huskies Launch Four Home Runs, Win 22-14 at St. John’s

Washington scored at least one run in all eight innings before the game was called due to a travel curfew. The Huskies hung a six in the top of the eighth, the most runs in an inning on the day.
As a team, the Huskies hit .462 against St. John's (18-39). Washington also batted .750 when leading off (6-8) and .400 with runners in scoring position (10-25).
Every Husky starter recorded at least one hit and seven had multi-hit games. Sam DeCarlo and Colin Blanchard shared the team lead in hits with three while DeCarlo plated five RBIs, the most on the team.
The Diamond Dawgs totaled 18 hits, seven of which went for extra bases. AJ Guerrero and Colin Blanchard each recorded a double and a home run on the day.
Blanchard's homer was his first of the season while Guerrero's was his fourth and his first in a game since the beginning of March against Texas Tech.
Jackson Hotchkiss and Sam DeCarlo also launched long balls against St. John's. It was Hotchkiss' second of the season and DeCarlo's joint team-lead fifth. DeCarlo has homered twice in the last three games after also going yard against Rutgers on Saturday.
The Huskies used six pitchers on the day, with Tommy Brandenburg earning the start. He pitched 3.0 innings, allowing six hits, six runs, five of which were earned, while striking out two batters.
Reilly McAdams and Gunnar Nichols had the most productive days on the mound. McAdams tossed the fourth and fifth innings, allowing no hits while fanning three and only walking one.
Nichols closed out the game, pitching the eighth inning with only eight pitches while striking out one.
Jase Evangelista, Sawyer Parkin, and Isaac Yeager also pitched in the game, with Yeager collecting the win after pitching the seventh inning.
The Huskies return to action on Friday, hosting Purdue for another Big Ten series at Husky Ballpark.
