LAST TIME OUT
Washington (23-9, 3-2 B1G) earned its first-ever Big Ten series win, taking both games of the series against Rutgers to move to 23-9 overall. The Huskies won the games in run-rule fashion with a 9-0 (5) victory in game one and a 12-0 win in game two. Alycia Flores led the team with a .833 average with five hits, a double, a home run and five RBI. Tia Durst hit .600 with three hits, a double and four RBI. Alexis DeBoer also added three RBI on three hits and drew a pair of walks. In the circle, Stevie Hansen threw her fourth complete-game shutout of the season. She allowed just one hit and one walk.
NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alexis DeBoer was named D1Softball National Player of the Week after the Black and Orange Classic to close out the non-conference tournament season. The freshman posted a .538 batting average with seven hits, a double, five home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored and drew five walks while posting a 1.769 slugging percentage. On the season, DeBoer is batting .372 with a team-leading six doubles and 11 walks. She is on a 10-game hitting streak and has 13 consecutive games with an RBI. It is the first national player of the week honor since Olivia Johnson was named NFCA Player of the Week in 2022.
BIG TEN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
For the first time in program history, a pair of Dawgs have been named Big Ten players of the week. Freshman Alexis DeBoer won Player of the Week, while senior Stevie Hansen was named Pitcher of the Week. DeBoer lead the team with a .579 batting average with 11 hits, 11 RBI, four runs, two doubles and three home runs at the OUTRIGGER Invitational. Hansen anchored the UW pitching staff with a 0.00 ERA, 2-0 record and a save over 12.2 innings. She struck out 16 batters along the way with only four hits and one walk allowed.
A NEW ERA FOR WASHINGTON
The 2024-25 athletic year marks the inaugural season in the Big Ten Conference for Washington Athletics. On Aug. 2, 2024, the Huskies became official members of the Big Ten along with UCLA, USC and Oregon.
HOME SWEET HOME
Since 2018, the Huskies have posted a 104-25 record at Husky Softball Stadium, including a 17-3 record in 2023 and 11-4 in 2024.
GETTING IT DONE IN THE CIRCLE
The Washington pitching staff of Sophia Ramuno, Stevie Hansen, Morgan Reimer and Madi Balk has combined for 11 shutouts on the season, sixth-most in the NCAA and most in the Big Ten. Their 5.02 strikeout-to-walk ratio is third best in the nation. The staff's 8.48 strikeouts per seven innings ranks sixth in Division I and 1.06 WHIP is eighth. Individually, Ramuno's 12.57 strikeout-to-walk ratio leads the conference while coming in fourth nationally. Her 88 strikeouts is 37th-most in DI and 10.7 strikeouts per seven innings comes in fifth. Hansen is second in the B1G with her .86 WHIP which comes in 14th in the nation. UW is on track to have three pitchers with 10 or more wins. Reimer leads the team with nine, while Hansen has seven and Ramuno has six. The last time the Huskies had three pitchers with 10 or more wins was in 2012 with Kaitlin Inglesby (19), Kasey Stanchek (10) and Bryana Walker (10).
DEBUT MOMENTS
During the first three weeks of the season, 16 Huskies made their debut in the Purple and Gold. Ten saw time in game one against Alabama - Alexis DeBoer, Charity Sevaaetasi, Alycia Flores, Riley Peschek, Gabi Toney, Addie Craig, Morgan Reimer, Ava Carroll, Tia Durst, Rylee Rehbein and Sophi Mazzola. Three more saw time in the second game of the day against Arizona - Jade Bubke, Stevie Hansen and Sophia Ramuno. Madi Balk made her Washington debut during week two against Utah Valley. Freshman Annika Ticen made her debut as a pinch runner against UC Riverside on Feb. 20.
OPENING WEEKEND SUCCESS
Dating back to 2014, the Huskies are 50-8 during opening weekend. In 2023, the Huskies went 4-1 at the Mark Campbell Invitational with the lone loss coming against Oklahoma. In 2024, UW went 3-1 at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge with the lone also coming against the Sooners in extra innings. Prior to that, Washington went undefeated the previous three seasons over opening weekend.
AMONG THE ACTIVE LEADERS
Fifth year senior Alycia Flores ranks 32nd in NCAA Division I among active players with 133 RBI. Her 206 games played is 19th most and 39 doubles is 31st. Stevie Hansen has moved into the Top 50 active leader in career victories, coming in 33rd with 43. Sophia Ramuno's 390 career strikeouts ranks 36th in NCAA Division I.
NO-NO
Senior pitcher Stevie Hansen threw the 51st no-hitter in program history against UC Riverside at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Feb. 20. It was the second no-hitter of Hansen's career - her first came against Utah Valley in 2023 when she was at Oregon. The lone base runner in the game came in the first inning, reaching on an error.
SIMPLY PERFECT
Stevie Hansen threw the ninth perfect game is Washington softball history on March 9 versus Montana. She struck out six of the 15 batters faced in the 11-0 five inning victory over the Griz. Hansen is the fifth Husky pitcher to throw a perfect game joining Nancy Wagner, Jamie Graves, Danielle Lawrie and Gabbie Plain. It was the third no-hitter of Hansen's career and second this season for the senior.

DAWGS WORLDWIDE
This summer, freshman Morgan Reimer played for the Canadian Junior National Team at the U-18 Softball World Cup Group Stage, helping the team qualify for the 2025 World Cup. During the event, Reimer posted a 0.00 ERA with a 2-0 record over 14.2 innings. She struck out 29 batters and threw a perfect game against Australia. Additional this past summer, head coach Heather Tarr and former Husky Sis Bates led Team USA to a silver medal at the WBSC World Cup Finals. Taran Alvelo joined Team Puerto Rico for the World Cup. Baylee Klingler represented Team USA in the Japan All-Star Series. Representing Team Mexico this summer were Lindsay Lopez and Jillian Celis at the Canada Cup.
REPPING THE RED, WHITE & BLUE
Assistant coach Brad Kilpatrick has been named to the roster for the 2025 WBSC Men's World Cup Finals held from July 8-13 in Prince Albert, Canada.
TOUGH SCHEDULE
Washington has a tough schedule ahead with eight teams ranked on receiving votes in the preseason NFCA poll. The Huskies opened the season with four of their first five games against a ranked team in then-No. 11 Alabama and then-No. 16 Arizona. The Week 6 NFCA poll sees five opponents in the Top 25 in No. 6 UCLA, No. 8 Oregon, No. 10 Arizona, No. 21 Nebraska and No. 24 Grand Canyon. Additionally, Alabama, Cal and Arizona State are receiving votes. As of March 24, the Huskies have the 35th toughest strength of schedule.
ROAD DAWGS
The Huskies will open the first five weeks of the season in the road beginning at the Candrea Classic (Feb. 7-9). Washington will then head back down to The Grand Canyon State for the Littlewood Classic (Feb. 14-16). The Dawgs will continue their road swing with a 12-day trip beginning at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 20-23) then traveling to Northridge for the first mid-week contest of the season versus CSUN on Feb. 24. UW will then head over to Hawaii for the OUTRIGGER Invitational (Feb. 26- March 1). The final tournament of the season will come at the Black and Orange Classic in Pocatello, Idaho (March 8-10). In total the Dawgs will travel almost 11,200 miles over the first five weeks. Washington will make their first appearance at Husky Softball Stadium for the Big Ten opener against Oregon, March 14-16.

The all-time winningest coach in Washington Athletics history, Heather Tarr eclipsed 800 career wins last season. Her career .723 winning percentage ranks 11th among active Division I softball head coaches with a minimum five years as a head coach. Her 843 wins are 24th most among active coaches. Cal Poly enters the midweek matchup with an overall record of 4-22 and 0-9 in Big West action. Last weekend, the Mustangs hosted Cal State Fullerton and dropped all three contests. Julia Barnett leads the team with a .329 average with 26 hits, five double, a home run and 14 RBI. Behind the dish, Barnett has caught nine runners stealing, 18th-most in the NCAA. Maddy Bermudez leads the team with four stolen bases. Kiara Blanchard and Mylina Camarena have 10 RBI.
ALL-TIME VS. CAL POLY
Washington and Cal Poly have met four times before with the Huskies winning all four meetings. The last meeting came in 2019 at Husky Softball Stadium with the Huskies winning 7-1.
