
Huskies Defeat Cal Poly, 5-1

SEATTLE – Washington softball closed out its six-game homestand with a 5-1 win over Cal Poly on Tuesday at Husky Softball Stadium.
The Huskies move to 24-9 on the season.
Sophia Ramuno got the start in the circle going three innings with two hits, two strikeouts and one walk allowed. Freshman Morgan Reimer (10-4) came on in relief to earn her 10th win of the season. She stuck out seven batters.
Jadyn Glab led off the game with her sixth double of the season and Ava Carroll walked to put two on base for Alexis DeBoer. She sent a single through the left side to drive in the first run of the contest.
Cal Poly answered with a solo home run in the third to tie the game at one.
With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Carroll and DeBoer drew back-to-back walks, and Alycia Flores sent a line drive over the left field wall to retake the lead at 4-1.
UW added to its lead in the sixth on a one-out triple from Gabi Toney, the first of her career. She was brought home on Glab's second hit of the game.
Glab (11 games), Carroll (21) and DeBoer (16) extended their on base streaks to lead the team at the top of the order. Glab is also riding an 11-game hitting streak.
Up next, the Huskies head out to Illinois for a midweek meeting at Eastern Illinois on Thursday before returning to conference action against the Fighting Illini for a two-game series beginning on Friday. To view the entire weekend schedule, click here.
